Spicy Currant Snaps

Deliciously spiced biscuits

Ingredients
  

  • 125 gm Butter, room temperature
  • 3/4 Cup Sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 Tbsp Golden Syrup
  • 3/4 Cup Currants
  • 2 Cups Self Raising Flour
  • 1 tsp Mixed Spice
  • extra sugar for rolling

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven 180 C
  • In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until soft and fluffy
  • Add egg and golden syrup, mix well
  • Add flour, spice and currants, mix well
  • Roll in heaped teaspoon sized balls
  • Roll in extra sugar and flatten slightly
  • Bake on lined baking trays for approximately 15-20 minutes
  • Cool on trays
