Golden Sausage Casserole

Sausages in a delicious sauce

Ingredients
  

  • 8-10 Sausages
  • 2 Tbsp Plain Flour
  • 2 Tbsp Tomato Sauce or Chutney
  • 1 Tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 2 Tbsp Sugar
  • 1 tsp Curry powder
  • 1 Tbsp BBQ Sauce
  • 2 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 Onion, finely chopped
  • 1 Tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 1/2 Cups Boiling Water
  • 1 Carrot, grated and/or Parsnip

Method
 

  1. Fry onion in oil in a fry pan until lightly browned.
  2. Cook sausages in same pan until lightly browned.
  3. Preheat oven 180 C
  4. Put the onions into a greased casserole dish, sprinkle with the grated carrot.
  5. Place the sausages on top.
  6. Combine the remaining ingredients and pour over the sausages.
  7. Cover and bake about 30-40 minutes.
  8. Serve with mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables.

Notes

Using chipolata (mini sausages) would be a great idea if you are feeding a crowd or taking a casserole somewhere for a shared meal.
Adding some bacon to this casserole is also lovely.
