Chocolate Self Saucing Pudding

Soft Chocolate cake with a rich chocolate sauce magically appearing underneath served warm.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Cup Self Raising Flour
  • 2 Tbsp Cocoa
  • 3/4 Cup Castor Sugar
  • 3/4 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 60 gm Butter, melted
  • 1/2 Cup Milk
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Essence
  • 2 Cups Boiling water

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven 180C
  2. Sift flour and 1 Tbsp cocoa, add castor sugar, melted butter, milk and vanilla essence.
  3. Mix well and spread into a greased 2 litre oven dish.
  4. Combine brown sugar and remaining 1 Tbsp Cocoa and sprinkle over cake mixture.
  5. Pour over 2 cups boiling water using an upturned Tbsp to help disperse the water.
  6. Bake for approximately 45 minutes.

Notes

Serve with cream, ice cream or both. Also delicious served with fresh berries and a berry coulis.
