Beef and Bacon Bake

Garlicy Beef and Bacon Casserole

Ingredients
  

  • 1 kg Diced Beef
  • 1 tsp Garlic, crushed
  • 2 Tbsp Plain Flour
  • 2 tsp Sugar
  • 2 Tbsp Vinegar
  • Pinch Salt
  • Pinch Pepper
  • 2-3 Brown Onions, sliced
  • 4 Bacon Rashers, cut in approx 4-5 pieces
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 Tbsp Tomato Sauce
  • 1/2 Cup Beef Stock

Instructions
 

  • Combine flour, sugar, salt and pepper, roll the diced beef in this mixture.
  • Grease an ovenproof dish (lasagne dish/baking dish)
  • Cover the base of the dish with sliced onion.
  • Put beef on top of the onions
  • Cover the beef with slices of bacon.
  • Combine stock, garlic, sauces and vinegar; pour over the bacon.
  • Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  • Preheat oven 180C
  • Bake covered for 2 hours.
  • Remove cover and bake a further 30 minutes. or until the beef is tender and the bacon is browned.

Notes

Serve with mashed potatoes, scalloped potatoes, rice or buttered pasta.
This casserole is perfect to take along to a shared meal.
