Instructions
Preheat oven to 160C
Sift the flour and rub in the butter with your fingers.
Add the rolled oats, sugar, coconut and spice, mix well.
Combine the milk, eggs and vanilla.
Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix well.
Spread the mixture into a greased 2 litre ovenproof dish.
Sauce
In a jug mix together the butter, syrup, sugar and boiling water.
Pour the sauce over the cake mixture using the back of a large spoon so the liquid doesn't pool.
Bake for 30-40 minutes or until cooked.
Notes
Serve with cream or ice cream.
