A delicious Chocolate slice full of Black Cherries and Chocolate chips, lovely served for afternoon tea or serve a slice warm with chocolate sauce and cream or ice cream as a dessert.
I have always loved Black Forrest Cake, the layers of chocolate cake, black cherries, cream and chocolate are delicious and seem very indulgent.
Quick and easy to make its the perfect last minute dessert to make and you can stand back and receive the accolades, just don’t reveal how easy it really is to make.
Black Forrest Chocolate Slice
A chocolate slice with black cherries and chocolate chips
Ingredients
- 200 g Milk Chocolate, chopped
- 150 g Butter, Chopped
- 3 Eggs, lightly beaten
- 1 Cup Brown Sugar
- 1 Cup Plain Flour
- 1 Cup Coconut
- 415 g Can stoneless Black Cherries, drained
- 3/4 Cup Dark Chocolate Chips
Instructions
- Preheat Oven 180 C
- Line a 27 x 18 cm slice tray with baking paper and set aside.
- In a medium saucepan, combine chocolate and butter, stirring over low heat until melted and smooth, remove from the heat and set aside to cool.
- Stir in the Brown sugar until smooth.
- Stir the lightly beaten eggs into the chocolate mixture.
- Stir in the flour and coconut, then the cherries and chocolate bits.
- Spoon the mixture into the slice tray.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until cooked.
- Cool in then pan, serve cut in appropriate sized slices.
- Melt a small amount of chocolate by placing in a snap lock bag making sure it is sealed well, put in a container of boiling water until it is melted it should only take 5 minutes.
- Remove the bag from the water and dry it well, tip it so the chocolate pools on one corner and then snip the corner off, drizzle the chocolate over the slice and allow to set.

This slice makes a delicious dessert served warm with Ice cream or cream.
