Oven baked beef and bacon meatballs basted with barbeque sauce, perfect to make mini for finger food or large to serve as a main with mac and cheese or mash and steamed vegetables.
Easy to prepare, I quite often prepare these the night before or in the morning, cover the dish with glad wrap keep in the fridge so that I just need to put them in the oven when I get home at the end of a busy day.
The combination of beef, bacon and cheese pairs perfectly with smoky barbeque sauce to produce the best kind of comfort food.
Smoky Barbeque Meatballs
Beef bacon and cheese meatballs with barbeque sauce
Ingredients
- 500 g Minced Beef
- 2 Rashers bacon, finely chopped
- 3/4 Cup Mozzarella cheese, grated
- 75 g Breadcrumbs
- 1/4 Cup Milk
- 1/2 Small Onion, grated
- 2 tsp Garlic, chopped
- 1 Egg
- 1 tsp Smoked Paprika
- 3 Tbsp Smoky Barbeque sauce
- 3/4 Cup Smoky Barbeque sauce, Extra
- 3/4 Cup Mozzarella Cheese grated, Extra
Instructions
- Preheat oven 180 C
- In a large bowl collect all the ingredients except extra barbeque sauce and extra cheese.
- Combine the mixture well.
- Roll the meat mixture into balls and place onto an oven tray/dish, depending how I am serving these meatballs depends on the size I make them, larger for a meal with mash or smaller for finger food.
- Bake in the oven for 20 minutes.
- Brush with half of the extra sauce, bake a further 5 minutes.
- Repeat the last step and sprinkle with extra Mozzarella bake a further 10-15 minutes until cheese is melted and enjoy.
Notes
Just as good portioned larger for a meal or made mini and served as finger food with extra BBQ sauce on the side.
